COASTAL RAILWAY

Along this coast there used to run a railway; connecting Istanbul to Port Saïd near the Suez Canal. This connection has been broken for the past 50 years.

The process of rebuilding those infrastructures is costly on many levels: time, money, energy and high maintenance costs. It also implies delocalization of many residents and establishments, dealing with subsequent political constrains. Today, Lebanon does not seem to be ready to revive its railway system.
